coffee bean polishing machine

Polishing machine with a capacity of 5–10 tons per hour and a 7.5 kW power rating. Removes surface dust from beans and mung beans to give them a shinier appearance. Certificates include SGS, CE, and SONCAP; supply ability is 50 sets per month with delivery in 10–15 working days.

Coffee Bean Polishing Machine Introduction

The drum of the coffee bean polishing machine is lined with food-grade pure cotton canvas. As the beans tumble slowly, they undergo gentle friction against both the canvas and each other. Operating at low speed helps minimize breakage (broken bean rate: < 0.3%), making it particularly suitable for Arabica beans, which have thin skins and are more prone to damage. An integrated centrifugal fan simultaneously removes detached silverskin and dust, collecting impurities centrally to maintain a cleaner, dust-free workshop environment.

PRODUCT STRUCTURE

● Top-loading stainless steel hopper: The vertical storage hopper you previously refined, equipped with a manual flow-control gate for uniform, steady feeding. Made from 304 stainless steel for corrosion resistance and to prevent coffee residue buildup.

● Polishing chamber: A sealed cylindrical housing with a white baked-enamel finish. The core polishing assembly uses wear-resistant canvas and/or abrasive rollers.

● Dual yellow drive guards: Protect the motor drive belts and support safe operation while helping prevent dust.

● Dual-motor power system: Includes the main polishing spindle motor and an independent dust extraction fan. Two separate airflow channels separate chaff and dust.

● Bottom discharge hopper: Automatically discharges polished coffee beans. Compatible with bucket elevators for transfer to grading and color-sorting stages.

● Machine frame/base: Painted support structure made of thickened square tubing. Optional swivel casters enable flexible mobility within the workshop.

PRODUCT FEATURES

● Low Bean Breakage Design: A low-speed friction structure minimizes skin breakage during processing of premium Arabica beans, helping preserve their value as whole beans;

● Food-grade Materials: All parts in contact with coffee beans are made of 304 stainless steel, meeting hygiene requirements for food exports to Europe and the US;

● Optional Variable Frequency Drive (VFD): Adjustable polishing speed enables flexible adaptation to different coffee bean varieties (thin-skinned vs. thick-skinned);

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION

Scope of Application

1. Dry Processing Plants / Coffee Processing Stations (Primarily Washed Arabica)

After hulling, washed coffee beans retain a significant amount of silverskin on their surface, making this the primary application for polishing machines. Small-to-medium capacity units (0.5–3 t/h) are commonly used by estates and cooperatives to process their own beans. Polishing removes silverskin, improves visual appearance, enhances cupping quality, and reduces the ashy, bitter taste often associated with roasting. Polishing for honey-processed beans is optional and depends on customer requirements. By contrast, dry-processed (natural) beans have tightly adhering silverskin and are rarely polished, as excessive polishing can damage bean structure.

2. Large-Scale Export Processing Plants (Export-Grade Green Bean Processing)

For beans destined for overseas markets such as Europe, the US, and the Middle East, many buyers explicitly require polished green beans. High-capacity equipment (3–10 t/h) is integrated into complete production lines, working alongside hullers, air-screen cleaners, gravity destoners, grading screens, color sorters, and packaging machines. Polished beans provide consistent quality and meet export grading requirements. In many countries, polishing is an essential processing step for coffee exports.
