Stainless Steel Square Buffer Hopper with Conical Bottom (Intermediate Storage Hopper)
Equipped with a manually operated slide gate valve and a green powder-coated steel support frame, this hopper is widely used in processing lines for coarse grains, seeds, and legumes.
I. Structural Components
Hopper Body: 304 stainless steel square-to-conical design. Smooth internal surfaces help prevent material build-up, support thorough cleaning, and minimize the risk of cross-contamination of grains or seeds.
Support Frame: A load-bearing, powder-coated carbon steel frame with adjustable height to match the feed inlet of downstream cleaning equipment.
Bottom Section: Manually operated slide gate valve. Enables manual adjustment of the opening size to precisely control discharge flow, or to completely shut off material.

II. Core Functions (in Grain Cleaning Production Lines)
Flow Buffering and Balanced Feeding
Receives material from the elevator and absorbs sudden impacts, ensuring stable, uniform feeding to downstream air-screen cleaners, gravity destoners, and color sorters. Helps prevent throughput fluctuations that may reduce screening accuracy or lead to blockages.
Process Buffering and Temporary Storage
Serves as a buffer station between two main processing machines. Temporarily stores product when upstream and downstream processing speeds differ, reducing the need for frequent line start-stop cycles. Also allows isolation of the hopper using the gate valve during short maintenance of downstream equipment.
Controllable Discharge Rate
The manual gate valve at the bottom provides free adjustment of the discharge rate to match the capacity of downstream equipment, supporting stable feeding and optimizing cleaning/impurity removal performance.
Dust Containment and Loss Reduction
The enclosed hopper design suppresses dust dispersion, reduces airborne dust levels in the workshop, and minimizes product loss caused by spillage, supporting environmental requirements for coarse grain processing.
Material Homogenization and Flow Stabilization
As product accumulates, it naturally homogenizes in the hopper, helping prevent localized concentration of impurities and promoting uniform flow into the next cleaning stage.
III. Common Installation Locations
Elevator discharge outlet → Buffer hopper → Air-screen cleaner / Gravity separator / Color sorter;
May also be used as a small-scale finished product storage hopper when connected to packaging equipment.
IV. Suitable Materials
Processing lines for granular materials, including soybeans, mung beans, kidney beans, sesame seeds, chickpeas, various coarse grains, and vegetable seeds.
